Dr. Gillman graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1961. He attended the University of Illinois Medical School and obtained his MD Degree in 1965. He completed his internship and residency in Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Hospital in 1968. He then entered the United States Air Force Medical Corp, where he served as Captain at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico for two years. During 1970-1972 he did post graduate training in Pediatric Allergy & Immunology in Los Angeles, California, at LA County USC Medical Center. Dr. Gillman is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Allergy & Immunology. He is currently a partner in CHOC, Pediatric Specialty Faculty, a multi-specialty group affiliated with Children's Hospital in Orange County. He is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics & Allergy at the University of California, Irvine, and has a full-time private practice in Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. He is the Medical Director of SCAMP Asthma Camp for the American Lung Association and has been since 1986. In 1996 he was chosen as Los Angeles Times "Volunteer of Distinction" for service to children. He was President of the Medical Staff of CHOC Hospital in 1989 & 1990. He is on staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Children's Hospital of Orange County at Orange, and Western Medical Center in Santa Ana. Dr. Gillman is actively involved as a Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator in clinical research. He has been conducting clinical trials since 1972 for pharmaceutical companies in both adult and pediatric asthma & allergy.
